Interprofessional Education Taskforce
Purpose
The purpose for this taskforce is to:
- Identify areas where interprofessional educational sessions/courses can incorporated across the Division of Health Sciences.
- Create learning opportunities for health professions students.
- Measure outcomes of all curricular endeavors.
In the fall of 2020, the IPE Taskforce identified two areas of focus: Interprofessional Telehealth and Interprofessional Ethics across the Health Professions. Given the increase use of Telehealth to meet the healthcare needs of rural Eastern North Carolina especially given the COVID-19 Pandemic, the IPE Taskforce developed three modules on telehealth:
- Defining Telehealth for IPE Programs
- Implementing Telehealth with Culturally Diverse Patients
- Ethical and Legal Issues regarding Telehealth
These modules will be piloted in 2021 with interprofessional learners from across the Division of Health Sciences.
